Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.
The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
